The HISTORY

Of the Forsters Posthotel

How it all began...

Monika and Reinhold Forster both come from catering families and have fulfilled their lifelong dream after long years spent traveling and working at top restaurants and hotels.

They bought the medieval estate in 1993 from Princess Gloria -Thurn and Taxis brewery. The formerly dilapidated building was demolished in August 1993 and already reopened in April 1994, after 9 months of construction.

History

Fit for the 21st century

In 2012, this historic hotel launched a further reconstruction in grand style. After only seven months of construction, a 10,500 m2 large, innovative annex resulted that perfectly combines tradition and modernism.

Traditional natural quarry elements and native woods such as oak or pine, now dominate the appearance of the new entrance including a new hotel lobby lounge and reception as well as the 34 new luxury rooms including two suites. Other elements that were also completely redesigned include the gourmet restaurant Karree as well as the spa area in the basement with state of the art sauna, massage, relaxation and fitness facilities.

The Forsters Posthotel is now ready for the next eventful decades!
